UnDomestic

Writings of a teachermom, choosing to stay home with her kids, while loathing all domestic responsibilities! In late Aug. 2008, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer. After surgery, chemo and radiation, I was given theall clear. However, in the late summer of 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which metasticized to other areas.

:(

The deed is done.

My hair has been shaved.

And that's all I can write right now.

"For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works.. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them. If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand."

Psalm 139: 13, 14, 17-18.

Be encouraged! No matter what's going on. God is make it alright but you have to stay strong.

"Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." it seems unfair that hair-loss is just a part of cancer treatment. as if you didn't already have enough challenges.

thinking of you.

Dear Cari:

I know you're unhappy right now about the loss of your hair. Being a woman I understand how we tend to feel that our hair is our "crowning glory", and somehow completes us. Regardless of your loss, understand and remember that you are a beautiful young woman, not only outwardly but inwardly. It may take a while to get used to, but I'm sure that the Lord will calm your spirit and bring you to acceptance. By the way, what happened to the mohawk that Cameron suggested you get!? And,when you're comfortable with your new look, please, post a picture!

Love you much,
Auntie Nita

It seems all so unfair! You will get through it- remember you are loved by friends and family no matter if you have hair or not! Take care- Traci

Ah Cari,
Hang in there. This is for a limited time only. It will pass eventually, and you will once again feel as beautiful as you are, with our without your hair. Just hang in there.

You were beautiful when you were born with no haair and you are more beautiful now. Remember it is the beauty inside that matters most and that is always the beauty that is everlasting.
Love Ya and thinking about you.
