UnDomestic

Writings of a teachermom, choosing to stay home with her kids, while loathing all domestic responsibilities! In late Aug. 2008, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer. After surgery, chemo and radiation, I was given theall clear. However, in the late summer of 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which metasticized to other areas.

Appointments

I had a radiation appointment at 7:10 AM.

Next, I had an appointment with a doctor at the University of Minnesota to discuss a particular chemo procedure.

Then we drove over an hour to the Mayo clinic to discuss other chemo options with an oncologist.

Finally, and most importantly of course, my husband and I went to a local restaurant/wine bar.

I'm just a little exhausted.

Hello beautiful Undomestic! I'm a friend of your mom and dad from NJ. I went to CA with your mom. I had not seen her or any of the girls until very recently. Your mom may have relayed this story but just in case she didn't I will. I was at a baby shower for Lauren Peacock and was sitting at the table with some friends/realatives of Lauren. I barely know Lauren...I'm a friend of her mother in law's. So, we're all cabitzing as we're stuffing our faces with yummy food and I hear the name Zbikowski flying out of someone's mouth. My ears perked up, of course. That name is not one that you hear every day. So, I began my interogation and yes, indeed, it's Aunt Marybeth. I was so happy to be in that little corner of the world at that moment in time. Now, I know you're wondering who I was talking to and I sure do wish I could tell you who it was but I don't have a clue. Ask your mom...she knows. You see, I gave my phone number to this cousin of yours and asked that she give it to your mom. Low and behold your mom did reach out to me. And now I have had the opportunity to be reunited with some wonderful women that I knew so long ago. One that I haven't met up with yet is your mom. We've emailed but I'm waiting for a hug. There's no rush though. It's been years. I can wait a little longer for a hug. Right now all of her hugs and energy are for you and your family. You all are so lucky to have each other as you walk this path.

I have been checking your blog here and there. I must say that my heart breaks for all of you. I must also say that I admire your faith and fortitude. Girl, I hope you get your miracle. I am praying for that, too. We all are. Keep on keepin' on!

I think you should go out to dinner next Friday, too!

Tell your dad that "moom river" said hello!

Blessings to all of you.
