UnDomestic

Writings of a teachermom, choosing to stay home with her kids, while loathing all domestic responsibilities! In late Aug. 2008, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer. After surgery, chemo and radiation, I was given theall clear. However, in the late summer of 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which metasticized to other areas.

The kids are excited.

I had my 6th chemo treatment on Monday (my 2nd Taxol treatment). The shooting pains are back…but worse. They’re mostly in my legs. What I described last time as just annoying is a bit more agonizing. The docs gave me pain meds, but I have this fear of getting addicted to them ,so I take the mildest form possible. It’s not working very well.

It should be an interesting trip to the Dells this weekend. 3 hour car ride. 2 days at a waterpark. One day I’ll look back and laugh.

Laughter is always the best medicine, I hope you have a fabulous time, and don't get addicted but are a wee bit kinder to yourself.
Best wishes

Hnmm - still think the water park is an odd idea. Does Ella sleep well?

Does that mean you have four more treatments? Then what. I am curious and eager to know when the treatments come to an end.

I'm sorry to hear about the pain. Maybe the Dells will be a good distraction. Or maybe Melvin will take all the kids to the waterpark and you can relax at the spa!
I hope it goes well.

Ann--the waterpark wasn't my idea. We own a condo here at the Dells, and my husband took off from work (which doesn't happen often), so we did it for the kids. Also, I have 2 more Taxol treatments. Then a month break..then radiation..which is usually about every weekday for a month.

Andrea--the pain has been more tolerable than the past couple days. We did the waterpark yesterday...I survived it. Now I need to muster up the courage/energy to go again today. I'd rather sleep! But it is impossible to keep track of all three alone. I tried it while Melvin had to run back to the room for something, and I lost each kid at least once!
